At Last….Even The Littlest Of Creatures Needs To Eat
Posted on August 20th, 2008 by Ramona
I’ve had no luck attracting hummingbirds this summer. Placing the feeder in the wrong places and not getting the feed right has left me without these tiny, amazing creatures. Last weekend, I stumbled upon a large shepard’s hook (double hook, actually) that Frank planted right in front of the large window in my kitchen. I cleaned up the hummingbird feeder and put fresh feed in and…
Viola! Hummingbirds.
They like me….they really like me…..

YAY!!! Those are amazing pictures. Aren’t hummingbirds fun to watch?!
Hummingbirds are a great joy! They are very active now — feeding heavily to gain the strength to seek their real food … mosquitos and the like. Soon they will be heading to their winter home. It looks like you might be buying the “hummingbird” food or it may just be the photo. All you need to do is heat sugar in water until dissolved (1 part sugar to 4 parts water). Keep it fresh and they will come back every year. Enjoy!
I saw these photos the other day and meant to tell you how awesome they are!
Thanks Michael,
I did switch to homemade hummingbird food and they are really loving it. I hope to keep them around for a bit longer. They are just fascinating to watch.
I’m impressed. Great pictures taken like a pro.
Keep it up.
Awww…thanks Mom!
