Bring It Home, Phils!

It’s been 18 years since I witnessed the utter pandemonium and jubilation that broke out in the city of Philadelphia when the Phillies won the World Series in 1980. Revelers and cars pored out into the streets and the city’s constituency, blood, brick and mortar, become one congruous being, with the thrill of victory coursing throughout from the Far Northeast, to South Philly and beyond to the suburbs.
Everywhere I look, the city is awash in red as it waits in anticipation for tonight’s game. 3 1/2 more innings and the celebration could take to the streets once again.

Go Phillies! Hmmm… 1980… seems sooo long ago.. I was in 9th grade at Girls High, wow times flies! While you’re in Philly, hopefully you can get down to Reading Terminal to get some great pound cake from the Metropolitan Bakery and the BEST cookies from the PA General Store. Take care of your Mom and we’re holding things down here in Alexandria although it’s way too cold for just before Halloween!
Hope your mother is well…
mine is recovering from Guillian Barre…………
Thanks PhillyGirl and Sharon…here’s to recovery and good health!
PhillyGirl, I love the Metropolitan Bakery…I have their cookbook and have made the Chocolate Chip Cookies which are the best I’ve ever made.

Thanks a bunch for the recipe. I just hope my kid doesn’t notice the oatmeal — he might mistake it for something healthy. :0 Way to go Phillies!
