Memorial Day 2008-Remember
Posted on May 26th, 2008 by Ramona
Frank and I are fortunate to live near Washington, DC, where we can see the Monuments, walk the Mall, and see events like Rolling Thunder. After the Dupont Market on Sunday morning, we spent time on the National Mall and the Vietnam Memorial. Enjoy…..back to our normal programming tommorow!

Definitely. We made it out to Arlington Cemetery today. It was crowded but well worth it. Was the biker convention in town for Memorial Day?
Hi Neen,
There was a kind of biker convention-Rolling Thunder. Every Sunday before Memorial Day, bikers converge on the Washington DC mall.
They gather at the Pentagon parking lot, and ride down Constitution Ave at noon. There were thousands when we drove by the Pentagon.
Going to the AARP convention on September 3rd. Do you have any dc based cheap eats suggestion. Thanks for your help

Hi Richard,
Check out Market Lunch in Eastern Market for a great cheap breakfast (weekdaya and Sat.) or lunch (any day). It’s a DC institution. As is Ben’s Chili Bowl, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary.
A fantastic list of Cheap Eats can be found in the Washingtonian by food critic Todd Kliman. He’s usually spot on.

Let me know if you have any other questions about eats in DC. It’s a fantastic food town.
